THE FULL MORTY returns to the Jozi stage!
The Fringe @ Joburg Theatre
31 May – 5 June 2016
So what exactly makes the male brain tick? And a South African one at that too, nogal? Well, after sold-out performances around the country and a highly successful season in Joburg last August, Mortimer Williams returns to the Jozi stage to answer all your pressing questions in The Full Morty at The Fringe at Joburg Theatre from Tuesday, 31 May – Sunday 5 June.
I had such fun watching this critically acclaimed theatre actor, TV actor, madly talented vocalist and professional k*k talker Mortimer Williams at this show’s run last year! Morty is the perfect combination of talent, charisma and devilish naughtiness to provide the perfect evening of entertainment for guys and girls of all ages. He’s every bit as fun and likeable as you’d expect!
Stand up comedy meets cabaret in this hilarious show as Morty takes us through stories and songs that demonstrate just what it is that makes the SA male tick… with a few surprises along the way! From testosterone to toilet time this one-man adventure has it all! Morty will reveal all – literally and figuratively – as you join him in doing the Full Morty… although it might not be the way you think!
Says Mortimer Williams; “Yes! We are at it again! The Full Morty returns to it’s home – The Fringe Theatre @ Joburg Theatre – for a limited run. So, for the people who missed out last time: leave the DSTV and join me for a night filled with laughs, songs and so much more. And for those of you who DID see it, the show is fresh and updated with a new twist… So come on! Who knows, you might get to see The ‘Full’ Morty!”
Reviews from August 2015 season:
“Williams is a triple threat – actor, dancer and singer – and is able to do all three to a very high standard while still delivering a strong, well thought-out routine about the content of the average male mind.”
– Bruce Dennill, Independent journalist and theatre critic
“This is a candid, but innocent show spiced up with energetic dance moves and Williams’ excellent voice illustrating his stories with musical snippets.”
– Jennifer De Klerk, Artslink
